About: 

Adam currently serves as the CEO of AxleHire, an expedited urban last-mile delivery service, providing customers with a superior same and next day delivery experience.

Most recently, Adam was an investment partner at Eclipse, a venture capital firm focused on reinventing physical industries with modern technology.  After leading the firm’s investment in AxleHire, Adam joined the company full time as CEO.

Prior to AxleHire, Adam was Director of Customer Programs at Proterra, an electric bus company focused on delivering clean and quiet transport for the masses.  He led all customer program management and developed configuration processes needed to ramp sales order velocity through internal operations. Adam’s interest in sustainable transportation started at Tesla where he first managed all FP&A activities for the vehicle manufacturing organization. 

Adam holds a B.S. summa cum laude in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, an M.S. summa cum laude in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

As supply chain disruptions continue to mount, logistics companies are experiencing a boom in mergers and acquisitions to improve last mile delivery capabilities.

Last year saw a flurry of merger and acquisition activity in the logistics industry. In the last mile carrier sector, UPS acquired point-to-point carrier Roadie in September. A month later, regional last-mile carrier Lasership acquired another regional carrier, OnTrac, for a reported $1.3 billion.

There is a lot of speculation about whether these are one-offs or more of a trend that will carry over into 2022 and beyond. We lean toward the latter and think there are at least five good...
